Alexander Soros graduated from New York University in 2009 with a BA in History and is pursuing a doctorate in Late Modern European History at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an Honorary Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University in Budapest, an Associate Fellow at the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and the Humanities at Bard College, and was formerly a postdoctoral fellow at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (IWM) in Vienna.
Marc L. Baum is Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel for Serengeti Asset Management. Prior to joining Serengeti, Marc Baum was the General Counsel and a Partner of Offit Capital Advisors and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Peter Beinart is Associate Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the City University of New York. He is also a Contributor to The Atlantic, a Senior Columnist at Haaretz and a CNN Political Commentator.
Bernard Friedman is an entrepreneur with a twenty-five year primary focus on the media and entertainment space. Under the auspices of his current multidisciplinary production company FLYING MIND, he’s followed his interest in art and architecture and produced documentaries for radio and television (his most recent productions being “American Homes”, an animated 1000-year history of residential architecture in North America, and “See How We Are” a punk history of Los Angeles).
Simon Greer has been involved in social change work for the past 25 years. Considered to be a serial entrepreneur in the non-profit world, he has three times served in a CEO role in “turnaround" undertakings where the organizations' missions were as noble as ever but their impact and approach needed an overhaul. Today, as the founder of Cambridge Heath Ventures, he works with private sector companies, purpose driven organizations and governments to help them overcome their most pressing challenges.
Ilyse Hogue, a social change practitioner, media consumer and analyst, and online engagement expert, is the president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. Previously, she served as Co-Director of Friends of Democracy, a 2012 initiative to build political power around the issue of money in politics and as Senior Adviser to Media Matters for America where she focused on advocacy programs to undercut the power of right-wing media. From 2006- 2011, Ilyse was Director of Political Advocacy and Communications for MoveOn.org.
