Vigil Against Violence: Report Back

June 21, 2016
Bend the Arc

On June 21, in over 50 cities across the country, thousands of us acted with one voice to reject Donald Trump’s hateful agenda and say:
We've Seen This Before
From Trump Tower in New York City …
NYC Vigil Against Violence
… to Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C. …
DC Vigil Against Violence
… to the RNC Headquarters in the East Bay Area, California …
East Bay Vigil Against Violence
… to downtown San Francisco …
San Francisco Vigil Against Violence
… to Long Island, New York …
Long Island Vigil Against Violence
… to Raleigh, North Carolina …
Raleigh Vigil Against Violence
… to Palo Alto, California …
Palo Alto Vigil Against Violence
… to Los Angeles, California …
Los Angeles Vigil Against Violence
… to Chicago, Illinois, we filled public squares and streets with our message.
Chicago Vigil Against Violence
And hundreds of us acted in our homes all across the country: from Wooster, Ohio, to San Luis Obispo, California and Iowa City, Iowa.
Jews Reject Trump
Together, we remembered Andrew Goodman, James Chaney, and Mickey Schwerner, three civil rights activists who were murdered by the KKK for registering black voters on June 21, 1964.
And we are changing the story. News of our collective action spread quickly and widely:
Vigil Against Violence in the news
Our message is clear. When it comes to the political violence, hatred, and bigotry that Trump and his campaign are spreading: we’ve seen it before. And we won’t let it happen again.
