Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice, believes that the compromise worked out by President Obama, and Senate Republicans and Democrats, is an imperfect deal, yet nonetheless one worth supporting. “Rabbis, Imams, Pastors and Nuns on the Bus” Board School Bus to Visit Capitol Hill, Lobby Lawmakers to Protect Struggling Americans
Led by Bend the Arc Jewish Action, NETWORK, A National Catholic Social Justice Lobby, and the Muslim Public Affairs Council, “Rabbis, Imams, Pastors, and Nuns on the Bus” will board a large yellow school bus on Thursday, December 20 for a day of action and highlight top moral priorities of people of faith in the fiscal showdown by visiting a local social service agency, joining with Members of Congress on Capitol Hill and lobbying lawmakers to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and end tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and big corporations.
Jewish Americans from across the country, including more than 275 rabbis, are uniting to encourage lawmakers to ensure that Americans earning more than $250,000 a year pay their fair share of taxes as part of any agreement Congress and the Obama administration make to avoid the “fiscal cliff.”
Bend the Arc Jewish Action launched with an event in Washington attended by key members of Congress. Read the media advisory.
